WELCOME TO THE WORLD AIRWAYS REUNION 2004
The Year 2004 Reunion was a great success. It was held on October 23, 2004 at the Grand View Pavilion in Alameda, California shown below. Accommodations were at the Courtyard by Marriott on Hegenberger Road, Oakland.
The atmosphere was great as was the food and fellowship. Approximately 190 past and current World Airways employees were in attendance. Randy Martinez, World Airways President and Chief Executive Officer and his wife Jennifer, were also guests at the reunion. In attendance also was Jeff Gahr who was a twelve year old when he came to Oakland on the baby airlift in 1975 with his brother, and Shirley Peck Barnes, Baby Airlift book author. Also Atsuko Kuko Schlesinger, Jan Wollet, Ken Healy and Bill Keating who were involved in the last flight out of Viet Nam. A special thanks for Julie Antonelli, Nancy Peppin and others who assisted, for all their work putting the reunion together.
